Site visited April 2000. Updated October 2000

This is a Haven site  Basically a site for static caravans with a rather bumpy field for caravans/tents. The pitches were too close for comfort in my opinion.

Swimming pool, bar's, supermarket, take-a-way food shops and entertainment on site.

Plenty of walks along the seafront and a nearby market provides bargains on a Sundays. Further down into Cleethorpes centre a market is also held under cover on a Sunday.

We popped along for a visit last weekend and they have built a new touring site which looks ok. The bit we saw though isn't much good for tents as each pitch has a block paved hardstanding.

If tents have to go on the field next to the seafront car park, we wouldn't fancy it as it is too exposed and has no privacy from the car park at all.

Since our last visit the site has changed dramatically - the once bumpy field is no longer used for tourers as static caravans have been placed there. The touring part of Thorpe Park is now a lovely flat area, each plot is block paved for the car and caravan with ample room for the awning to be put on grass. It has been well landscaped and although we haven't stayed here since it has been upgraded it looks lovely from our drive around it.
Some plots have their own water and waste drains although you pay a little more for these. I still feel it is expensive to camp there but it is very close to Pleasure Island so that is maybe why. As before there is a swimming pool, bar etc as any good holiday village would have.
I am very impressed at the way the site has been planned and changed from a once bumpy field to the new site!

MADCARAVANNER'S NOTE

What Julie hasn't put in is there is a small fishing lake on this site (I know 'cos I've spent a long week-end here too but on a £9.50 holiday from the Sun newspaper)
